Culture Kick Vol.2 – Pascale Korteweg

When Woody van Amen travels to Japan for the first time in 2019, I ask him to film his impressions with a smartphone. The culture shock he experiences is reflected in the footage, as it did 60 years earlier when he recorded his stay in New York City on 8mm. I used the Japanese 4k material to create a cinematic sequel, bridging East and West and decades of adventurous marvel.
